Phillip Ochwo (b. London, UK) is a filmmaker and moving-image artist living in Berlin, Germany. His film practice centres on sensorial experience and perceptual inquiry, working through film to foreground embodied ways of seeing and feeling.
His work explores what is coded within human existence, examining how moral frameworks, self-acceptance, and lived experience are shaped through nostalgia, ritual, ancestral memory, environment, and family - chosen or not. Grounded in embodied inquiry and a process-led mode of filmmaking, his approach draws on the body and lyrical expression as conduits for discovery, allowing meaning to emerge and cascade through modalities.
Informed by a multidisciplinary background in writing, design, and music, his practice is shaped by an attentiveness to rhythm, composition, and tone. Alongside developing self-authored projects, he works within collaborative filmmaking contexts—an ongoing exchange that continues to inform his artistic thinking and methodology. Phillip has presented his work at art spaces in Europe and the U.K. including at POLYCHROME, Galerie Wedding, Berlin (2023), marking an early milestone in his developing practice. He operates under the moniker ‘Born Romeo’.
